PhotoRec is a File Recovery program designed to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from Hard Disks, CDRom and lost pictures from digital camera memory (thus, its Photo Recovery name). It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting your Partition Table). You should select the location for the recovered files to be written. To recover Lost NTFS files, choose the file that you want to recover and press the ‘C’ key along with the Ctrl key to copy the file. Now the deleted files and directories will be displayed in red. Go to the folder in which your old files were saved. Even after the deletion, you can read the deleted directory and find the file. If you have deleted the file name, then the file will be marked as deleted and the data area as free.
